The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has announced the killing of Ali Qadhi, a significant figure in Hamas’s commando forces. Qadhi had spearheaded a deadly attack on communities in southern Israel just last week.
Qadhi’s demise was the result of a drone strike, an operation built upon intelligence provided by both the Shin Bet security agency and the Military Intelligence Directorate.
The IDF also highlighted Qadhi’s criminal history. In 2005, he was detained by Israel due to his involvement in the abduction and killing of Israeli civilians. Later, in 2011, he was released to Gaza as a component of the Gilad Shalit prisoner swap deal.
