The impending evacuation of residents from Sderot, a town located close to the Gaza border, has been announced, according to a report from the Kan public broadcaster.
While the municipality has clarified that this evacuation is not compulsory, they strongly advise the town’s inhabitants to vacate the vicinity. Ynet news site reveals that Sderot has approximately 7,000 households.
This move follows last week’s evacuation from numerous communities in the Gaza vicinity that experienced significant damages caused by Hamas gunmen. The towns affected include Nahal Oz, Erez, Nir Am, Mefalsim, Kfar Aza, Gevim, and many others.
The escalating tensions have not only affected the Gaza border towns. In the northern part of the country, Metula has recently advised its residents to consider relocating temporarily.
Furthermore, there’s a considerable number of people from areas subjected to intense rocket attacks that have decided to seek refuge in calmer regions of Israel.
