Israel’s Netanyahu, Saudi Crown Prince Hold First Known Meeting

The groundbreaking meeting was held in presence of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who is looking to convince Riyadh to normalize ties with Jerusalem.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made an unannounced trip to Neom, Saudi Arabia on Sunday to meet with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman and U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, a senior authority has affirmed. The authority added that Yossi Cohen, the lead of Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency, was at the meeting also.

Riyadh still can’t seem to formally remark on the reports of the meeting, which was arranged by U.S. Special Representative for Iran, Elliott Abrams. The Israeli authority noticed that while Riyadh had at first consented to the meeting’s event being spilled to the media, the story broke sooner than arranged.

The arrangement was to release a portion of the details of the meeting over several hours, yet once Israeli media revealed that Netanyahu had suddenly canceled an arranged Cabinet meeting, as well as pictures of the assumed flight plan of the plane that took him and Cohen to Neom, the data was made public completely.

Earlier Monday, Israeli intelligence site Intellitimes detailed that a plane had left Israel on Sunday evening for Neom, Saudi Arabia, where it stayed on the landing area for a few hours before getting back. Albeit not Israeli, the plane had at one point been assigned to fly Netanyahu to the signing ceremony of the Abraham Accords with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain in Washington in September.

Both U.S. President Donald Trump and Netanyahu have as of late said additional Arab states were keen on signing an agreement with Israel. On Sunday, Pompeo said other Arab states could join the Abraham Accords. As far as Saudi Arabia is concerned, it has pronounced it would go into agreement with Israel once Jerusalem has signed an arrangement with the Palestinians.
