Israel has officially entered the US Visa Waiver Program, allowing its citizens visa-free travel to the United States, as announced by the Israeli Embassy in Washington.
Initially set to wait up to two months from its September 27 admittance to the program, the US has expedited its preparations, allowing Israelis to benefit earlier than expected.
Israeli citizens possessing biometric passports can now apply for an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) up to 72 hours prior to their journey. This permits them to stay in the US for durations up to 90 days, whether for business or tourism.
